This place is so beautiful, the stuff are super sweet and the pizza is out of this world. If I could go here everyday I would. Best pizza I've ever had!
Passed this place many many times on our way to another restaurant my wife and I frequent in Old Saybrook. Hungry for pizza and wanted to give it a try and so glad we did! Wife had the white pizza and I had the traditional red and I am not a sauce person. WOW - fantastic. Side of meatballs topped it off and of course plenty to take home. Rachel was our waitress and an absolute sweetheart. Provided us with a little history of the restaurant and owners and certainly nice to hear an employee with a long tenure speak highly of their employer AND she is only part time as she has a career - incredible. Really felt like we were regulars. Immaculate and warm atmosphere and the food is outstanding. Definitely will no longer drive past. We were taking a small trip down to CT to visit the Beardsley Zoo (following Rhode Islander rules: drive more than an hour, get a hotel) and dropped in by chance to grab a bite. Oh wow. The wait staff were incredibly friendly. My son has food allergies, and our waitress checked the bread, soup, and salad ingredients to be sure they were free from milk or egg. She was busy with a few other tables, but still was able to answer our questions and kept the drinks full. The food itself was a treat. The salads had a nice mix of veggies, and the bread came out steaming. My son loved his chicken soup, filled with chicken and pasta. My wife's meatball sub was cooked perfectly, with a crunchy crust surrounding soft bread and tasty meatballs covered in melted cheese. My stuffed ziti was simply insane. Ziti covered in melted cheese, with a bit of ricotta underneath, served with a plate of meatballs. Plenty of garlic cooked in, as well. We stopped by here completely at random, just looking for a quick meal. Our bill turned out to be a little over 35 for all three of us, and we all had leftovers. Quick on and off of 95, great food, great service, and great value. I can't recommend this place enough.
Excellent service, the atmosphere so beautiful. Our calzone was more than enough for two(we brought home half of it). The soups were delicious, perfect for a cold winter day, 1) spinach and 2)lentil-barley. Definitely we'll go back one day!
Out of towners, so we stopped in for take out. I enjoy the pizza with pepperoni, sausage and banana peppers. Had the garlic rolls. Enjoyed the berry cheese cake as well. Would visit again.
Worth a stop at this delightful restaurant! Found it on a whim and so glad we did! Appetizer of mixed antipasto was a hit...combo of hot peppers, mushrooms, olives, Italian meats, cheese! Pizza was delicious... crust was perfect as were toppings and sauce! Menu also includes grinders, pasta dishes and some entrees. Service was great... very attentive wait staff...both friendly servers kept checking on us! All around great place for a quick bite or a relaxing meal!
So.. I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl. I am about to be 25 this year. This place really sometimes surprises me. They are so consistent and still excellent. As excellent as I remember when my mama would say we were going out to dinner for Sal’s after a long week of school lol. Even in the early stages of my adulthood this place never fails me or my family. The red sauce is *chefs kiss*. To this day I always snag a pint of the sauce to freeze and take home with me. The ziti and meatballs, white clam pasta, baked ziti, and eggplant parm Ps. The side salad - specifically the balsamic vinegar dressing has always been fire and remains consistent to this day. Majorly grateful this place has stood the test of time because it’s my favorite comfort food
